Garmin AXIS replaces separate flight displays, GPS navigators, NAV/COMM radios, and audio panels with a single integrated unit. Fewer boxes, fewer wires, cleaner panel, lower installation cost.
The Garmin AXIS represents a fundamental shift in avionics architecture. Instead of installing separate flight displays, GPS navigators, NAV/COMM radios, and audio panels — each with its own wiring harness, mounting tray, and antenna connections — AXIS puts all of that capability into a single touchscreen display with physical controls.
For aircraft owners, this means a dramatically simpler panel with fewer components to maintain. For shops like ours, it means a cleaner installation with fewer potential failure points. The result is a modern glass cockpit that’s more reliable, easier to troubleshoot, and less expensive to install than a comparable stack of discrete boxes.
AXIS is available for hundreds of certified piston singles and twins — including the Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft, and Mooney models we work on every day — as well as experimental and LSA aircraft under the new MOSAIC rules. If you’re already flying with G3X Touch, the upgrade path is exceptionally clean: same panel cutout, same mounting holes, same sensors.

11.6" Landscape
The flagship AXIS display. Full-size touchscreen with physical controls for primary flight instrument duties. Ideal as a standalone PFD/MFD or paired with a second unit for a complete dual-display glass cockpit.

Built-In Capabilities
Every AXIS display integrates capabilities that traditionally required four or more separate boxes.
IFR GPS Navigator
TSO-certified IFR GPS built directly into the display. Full approach capability with LPV precision approaches down to 200 feet. No separate GTN box needed.
NAV/COMM Radio
Integrated 10-watt NAV/COMM transceiver with 8.33 kHz channel spacing and standby frequency monitoring. Dual-COMM switching when two AXIS displays are installed.
Audio Panel & Intercom
4-place intercom with COMM playback, Bluetooth audio for music and phone calls, and pilot isolate mode. Replaces a dedicated audio panel entirely.
Smart Glide & Emergency
Dedicated emergency button activates Smart Glide (nearest airport guidance during engine failure), level-wings mode, or a 180-degree escape turn. Built-in, always ready.
Synthetic Vision & SafeTaxi
Enhanced Synthetic Vision Technology with pathway rectangles for flight path visualization. 3D SafeTaxi for runway and taxiway awareness. Runway Occupancy Awareness and optional SurfaceWatch.
Connectivity
Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for Garmin Pilot and ForeFlight connectivity. USB-C port for data transfer and device charging. HDMI video input for backup cameras or other monitoring.

Already Flying G3X Touch?
The AXIS upgrade path from G3X Touch is one of the cleanest transitions Garmin has ever offered. The AXIS display drops into the same panel cutout and uses the same mounting holes as your existing G3X Touch installation.
Your existing sensors, LRUs, and wiring stay in place. The upgrade requires approximately 8 connector pin changes — a job that can be completed in as little as one day. You get a dramatically more capable display with integrated GPS, radio, and audio panel without ripping your panel apart.
If you’ve been considering adding a GPS navigator or upgrading your audio panel, the AXIS upgrade may cost less than buying those components separately — and you get a modern integrated system instead of more discrete boxes.
Compatible Aircraft
AXIS is STC-approved for hundreds of Part 23 Class I and Class II certified piston aircraft. We install on all of them.

172 Skyhawk, 182 Skylane, 206 Stationair, 210 Centurion, and more. The most popular piston singles in the fleet — and we’ve installed Garmin in dozens of them.
Piper
Cherokee, Archer, Arrow, Saratoga, Comanche, Seneca, Seminole, Navajo, and Malibu/Mirage piston variants. Single and twin engine platforms covered.
Beechcraft
Bonanza (33/35/36 series), Baron (55/58), Musketeer, Sundowner, Sierra, and Duchess. We know Beechcraft panels and have the STC coverage to match.
Mooney
M20 series including M20C, M20E, M20F, M20J, M20K, M20R Ovation, and M20TN Acclaim. Tight panels are our specialty.
Experimental & LSA
Van’s RV series, Lancair, Glasair, and MOSAIC-eligible LSA aircraft. Experimental installations start at approximately $8,000 for a complete VFR system.
